Elba had a major co-starring role Stacker Pentecost in his biggest blockbuster film to date, Guillermo Del Toro's giant monster action/sci-fi extravaganza, which was released on July 12, 2013 release from Warner Bros.
Elba will reprise his role as Asgardian gatekeeper Heimdall in the superhero sequel, directed by Alan Taylor and set for release on November 8, 2013.
Elba's fifth collaboration with Rainforest Films also reteams him with Luther series one, two, and three director Sam Miller for a thriller in which he plays the kidnapper of a former district attorney (Taraji P. Henson). Shooting took place in spring 2012 in Atlanta for the film, written by Aimee Lagos and also starring Leslie Bibb, Kate del Castillo, and Henry Simmons. Screen Gems will release the film in September 2014.
Elba will produce and star as a disgraced sports agent in this independent drama written and directed by Arjun Rose, whose Demons Never Die Elba executive produced. More details on the film here.
